Shopping at the airport is always a little ritual for me. I spend time in airport stores to relieve flight stress. Cairo Airport has shopping areas in every terminal. The main large stores are in Terminal 3. This terminal has large duty-free areas, luxury brand corners, and local souvenir shops. If you have a long transit time at Cairo Airport, you can spend it browsing the shops in the terminals.
Cairo Airport is one of Africa’s largest airports. Here, there are numerous shops in the area after passport control. This shopping area, where Egypt’s rich culture meets luxury global brands, is lively and bustling even at 3 a.m.
Where are the Cairo Airport shops located?
There are shopping areas in all terminals at Cairo Airport. However, Terminal 3 has the most options. There are also duty-free shops and gift shops in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. There are duty-free shops in both the Arrivals and Departures areas. Most shops are located in the airside section of the terminals. So, no matter which terminal you fly from, you can find a place to shop.
Terminal 1: There is a large duty-free store in the Departures area. The Cairo Airport Duty Free area is in Terminal 1. On the first floor, you can see this store immediately to the right after passing through customs.
Terminal 2: There are three separate duty-free stores in the Departures area of this terminal. Cairo Departure, Cairo Departures VIP Shop, and Cairo Departures Bus Gate Shop Duty. Egyptair Duty Free Shops, Cairo Airport Duty Free, and Dufry stores are located in this terminal. There are also some stores in the Arrivals area.
Terminal 3: This is where the real stores are. With a shopping area of approximately 4,000 square meters, Terminal 3 serves all travelers. This terminal has the largest shopping area at the airport.
What are the Cairo Airport shop opening times?
Shop opening hours are determined according to flight schedules. The duty-free area in Terminal 3 is open 24 hours a day. During peak seasons, shops in all terminals are open until late at night. If you get bored waiting for your night flight, you can browse the shops. However, I should also mention that options are more limited in the early morning and late at night. Duty-free shops are open, but some small boutique shops may be closed.
Is shopping at Cairo Airport cheap?
The advantage of duty-free is that it is tax-free. Prices are particularly reasonable for alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and some perfumes. However, luxury brands such as Gucci and Hermes are expensive. Don’t expect great deals on perfumes and cosmetics. Alcohol and tobacco products are reasonably priced.
