Check in at Cairo Airport

Cairo Airport is a large and busy airport. The check-in process at this airport can sometimes be complicated. Check-in queues are particularly long during peak seasons. There are three terminals at this airport. Each terminal building has a check-in area. This means that you must check in at the terminal from which your flight departs. You should be at the airport 3 hours before international flights and 2 hours before domestic flights.

Cairo Airport Check-in Process: What is Required?

Valid Passport: This is the most important thing. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into the country.
Visa (if required): If you need a visa to enter Egypt, make sure your visa is approved and valid. Electronic visa (e-Visa): Citizens of many countries can apply for an e-Visa for Egypt. Citizens of some countries can also obtain their visas at the airport.

Online check-in and self-service kiosks

Most airlines serving Cairo Airport offer online check-in services. You can complete your procedures online without waiting in line at the terminal. However, if you have luggage, you must visit your airline’s kiosk. The online check-in process is very easy. You can quickly complete the process by entering your reservation code on your airline’s website. Download the e-boarding pass to your phone. If you only have a backpack, you can proceed directly to the security area.

EgyptAir starts online check-in 48 hours before the flight and continues until 90 minutes before departure.

Air Cairo opens online check-in 24 hours before the flight and closes it 4 hours before departure.

Other major airlines using Cairo Airport perform online check-in according to the 24-hour and 90-minute rule.

There are self-service kiosks near the check-in counters in every terminal at Cairo Airport. You can get your boarding pass from these kiosks. You can easily get your boarding pass by scanning your passport or entering your PNR number.
